I look forward to being
home soon and hope to see many of you while there. It is always
hard to leave here though but look forward to being back with
family and friends. Two of our precious children have just been
released for adoption and have gone to the states after a long
process. We thank you for your prayers and continue to pray for
those in that tedious process and the “parents” who faithfully
wait.
Continue to pray for rain
for us and our water situation over all. We did get a good rain
the end of September which really helped. We are exciting about
a new program we have begun at the Nest, the “Pod Program.” We
are most grateful to one of our board members and his wife for
coming in August to help us get this started. We have 4 “peas”
in each “pod” which sometimes changes to 3, depending on our
counts. The children stay the same in the “pod” and they have 3
different parents from staff (due to shift changes). They are
like surrogate parents and have complete care of those
children. Volunteers then help in each “pod” when they are
here.
My involvement in the
community development committee is booming. I am working with
some great active people who are like-minded. Most are well
known and prominent on the island and I am in awe of their work.
Thanks for your prayers
and support,
Michelle
