About

Robin's Nest is a Christian home for 30-35 children in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Robin’s Nest ministers to the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of the children. Children find their way to Robin’s Nest through the Child Development Agency of Jamaica. Many have been taken away from their parents due to physical or nutritional neglect. Quite often, the children are sick, malnourished, and in need of open, loving arms to care for them, pray over them, and bring them up in knowledge of the Lord. God works through the Nest to provide for their needs.

Children range in age from 0 to 18. They remain there as long as they need a "place of safety." Some are returned to their homes, others to foster care, and a few are adopted by suitable parents who meet government criteria through the Child Development Agency. At Robin’s Nest, children begin school at age 3 on-site, eventually transferring to a community school in the John’s Hall area. When they finish high school, all efforts are made to get them into university or technical training institutions in Jamaica. Robin’s Nest is well-recognized and respected by the government of Jamaica and the United Nations Child Welfare Department of Jamaica. It has been awarded the top rating of all children’s homes in the Western District of Jamaica.

Our Facility

We have been blessed with a 5 acre campus in a rural setting. The main house has 3 bedrooms for our girls, babies and toddlers. Each bedroom has a porch for activities. There is also a large kitchen and dining area, an education room, a swimming pool, and a dormitory for visiting teams.
A separate boy's dorm, "Jake’s House" is home for up to 12 boys. Jake's House was named in memory of a high school volunteer who had great passion for the Nest but went to be with the Lord in his early 20's. Jake's house also has a kitchen and dining room, a recreational room for the boys, an apartment for our executive directors, a dormitory for visiting teams, and a homework room. The boys have their own pod mom who stays with them around the clock.
Our preschool ministers to neighborhood children and as well as our own. Education is a high priority at Robin's Nest. Finally, Robin's Nest has a large chicken coop and several garden areas. These help Robin's Nest to reduce our food costs while teaching the children valuable life skills.
